Sports clubs across the Dales who would like to attract new members are being encouraged to join the Derbyshire Sport Club Directory.
The online directory can be found at www.derbyshiresport.co.uk and is free to join.
The directory is being described as a great way for clubs to promote themselves to potential new members and volunteers, who may have been looking to take up a new sport or activity as part of their New Year’s resolutions.
Clubs can register their details via a simple online form at www.derbyshiresport.co.uk/club_support
All sports clubs to join the directory will also be listed on www.activederbyshire.co.uk and www.derbyshire.gov.uk/derbyshiredirectory
David Joy, director of Derbyshire Sport, said: “We already have around 500 clubs registered on the directory from a variety of sports, with everything from archery and athletics to wheelchair basketball.
“The directory aims to help clubs to attract new members and more volunteers, and also to help signpost local residents to sports and activities happening in their area, which will hopefully lead to more people getting active more of the time.
“This is a time when many people look to take up a new sport or activity, so there has never been a better time for clubs to register their details.”
