Buxton Cricket Club juniors were given the prestigious accolade of providing a guard of honour at a recent Derbyshire Twenty20 clash.
The youngsters were invited to attend the Friends Life T20 fixture between Derbyshire Falcons and Durham Dynamos at Chesterfield’s picturesque Queen’s Park ground.
The invitation to the club’s junior players was in part in recognition of Buxton CC’s commitment to providing opportunities and development for junior players.
The club runs five junior sides; The under-9s, under-11s, under-13s, under-15s and under-17s.
In the game itself, Durham 137-6 beat Derbyshire 136-7 by four wickets with 10 balls to spare in a typically-tight and tense affair.
The decisive innings was played by Durham’s Ben Stokes scoring 46 from 24 balls.
Earlier Derbyshire’s Chesney Hughes and Wayne Madsen had both scored 32.
