DERBYSHIRE Falcons are still waiting for their first Friends Life T20 win of the campaign after the first two matches of the competition.
Their first match ended in an exciting tie against Lancashire at the County Ground while the second was lost to local rivals Nottinghamshire by 38 runs at Trent Bridge.
Martin Guptill (21), Chesney Hughes (65) and Wes Durston (86) helped smash Derbyshire to a very competitive total of 190-5 against Lancashire. The visitors eventually required three off the last ball to win and managed only two. Tim Groenwald and Greg Smith took two wickets apiece.
At Trent Bridge, the Falcons were chasing 185 to win after David Hussey hit a powerful 60 for the home side. In reply, they could only manage 146-8. Durston (46), Guptill (25) and Garry Park (36) were among the runs.
Derbyshire are next in Friends Life T20 action on Friday, at home to Durham (7pm start).
