ONCE more the weather held the upper hand as postponed matches proliferated in the Midlands Regional Alliance at the weekend.
However, the crucial top-of-the-table clash in the Premier Division between Allenton United and Willington did survive the downpour with Allenton winning 4-2.
Blout, from the penalty spot, Michael Meehan and Danny Briscoe (two) scored for Allenton while Brett O’Donnell and Jamie Pack hit the target for Willington.
In the only other Premier Division match of the day, Melbourne Dynamo won 3-0 at Chellaston. Dave Brough (two) and own goal were on the scoresheet for Melbourne.
In Division One, Derby Royals beat Pastures 8-1 with Kirk Francis scoring a hat-trick in the win. Josh Gregory added two to the total with Jamie Warner, Jerome Assumang and Daniel Arnold each contributing one goals.
Allestree benefitted from an own goal as they beat Little Eaton 5-1. Steve Bills (two), Dan Sharp and Daniel Thornhill scored the other Allestree goals.
Bargate Rovers lost 1-0 to Derbyshire Amateurs while Holbrook St Michaels Reserves went down 5-0 at home to Ripley Town.
In Division Two, the Childs brothers – Ben with three and Thomas with one – led the scoring for Selston Reserves as they beat Ambergate 5-0. Ashley Kenneth scored the other Selston goal.
Rowsley 86 Reserves also hit five goals in defeating Swanwick Pentrich Road Reserves, who replied with two. Denziel Widdowson scored two of their goals with Tim Baker, Seb Waller and Liam Hallamadding bagging the others.
Both Martin Dance and Matt Redshaw grabbed a brace of goals for Wirksworth Town Reserves as they beat Bargate Rovers Reserves 4-0.
The day’s remaining match ended in a 3-2 win for Punjab United Reserves away at Roe Farm.
