Cromford remain in second place in the Midlands Regional Alliance Premier Division after beating Sandiacre Town 4-1 with two goals from Kyle Johnson and one each from Danny Wildgoose and Mark Green on Saturday.
Sandiacre came into this match on the back of a 3-1 home defeat by Wirksworth Town.
Those two losses served to keep them at the foot of the table, just one point shy of Ashover, who lost 1-0 at Derby Royals.
In Division One, Rowsley 86 Reserves lost ground on the leaders when they were beaten 2-1 by Holbrook St.Michaels Reserves while Ambergate’s Division Two promotion hopes took a battering as Mackworth St.Francis beat them 3-1. Wayne Randall scoring the Ambergate goal.
Wirksworth Town Reserves and Newton played out a goalless draw while Ben Marsh, Steve Murphy and Shaun Smith all scored for Wirksworth Ivanhoe as they defeated Derby Royals Reserves 3-1.
Although Sandiacre Town played twice in the week they still failed to move from off of the bottom of the Premier Division.
Premier League leaders Allenton United won 4-0 away at Willington. Nathan Sandar, two, Scott Birch and Declan Jennings all scored for Allenton.
Melbourne Dynamo remain in third place after beating Swanwick Pentrich Road 2-1 with goals from Matt Jones and Dave Brough while Derby Rolls-Royce Leisure won 4-3 away at Mickleover RBL. Ben Stockley, two, and Rob Selby scored the Mickleover goals.
Allestree, who looked as if they were running away with the Division One crown, came to earth with a crash as they lost 4-2 to Punjab United. Surhjit Heer, Courtney Webster, two, and Jordan Patton were on target with the Punjab goals.
Mickleover RBL Reserves remain at the foot of the table after losing 2-1 at Findern while Bargate Rovers pulled off something of a surprise by winning 2-1 at Little Eaton. Paul Quincey scored the Little Eaton goal.
Aaron Brady and Mark Brewster both scored for Swanwick Pentrich Road Reserves as they drew 2-all with Tibshelf while Dean Cropper, three, and Tom Norris scored the Woolley Moor goals as they beat Derby Singh Brothers 4-2.
