Cromford see off Town in MRA clash

Cromford moved back into runner-up spot in the Midlands Regional Alliance’s Premier Division by winning 3-0 at Wirksworth Town with Anthony Fay, Danny Wildegoose and Joe Kay doing the scoring.

Wirksworth then helped Cromford maintain that position by drawing 2-all with Melbourne Dynamo.Carl Moore and Toby Howard scoring for the Town.

Rowsley 86 kept in contention by winning 1-0 over Holbrook St.Michaels, Dan Widdowson scoring the only goal.

Ashover gained a point as they drew 2-2 with Mickleover RBL. Dale Carline scored twice in the first half to give Ashover a 2-0 half-time lead. Mickleover, despite being down to ten men, came back to draw 2-.

Matlock Sports, despite scoring three goals through Boden, Pardey and Cartwight, returned to early season defending to lose 5-3 to Willington. Rowsley 86 Reserves lost 4-1 at home Mickleover RBL Reserves

Wirksworth Ivanhoe moved up into third place in their Division by beating Little Eaton Reserves 3-0 with two goals from Ben Marsh and one from Jack Higton.

Elsewhere, the A-teams have it. Allenton United won the Premier Division, Allestree won Division One and Allenton United Reserves need one point to take Division Two.

Allestree won their title in midweek when they beat Ripley Town 2-1. Allestree went down 4-2 to Tibshelf, Steve Webster,two,Steve Clements and Gareth Riley all scoring for Tibshelf.

Helping Allestree to the title was Punjab United’s 4-2 loss to Little Eaton.

In the Premier Division, it was a bad week for Sandiacre Town as first they lost 10-2 to Mickleover RBL and then lost 8-0 to Derby Royals.
