Colts started this game full of confidence after their cup final win and it showed as they hit the post in the first minute.

The next Wirksworth attack was ended after the Wednesday keeper made a great save from Holly Black.

With the passes flowing like that of the great Brazilian sides, Black once again tested the keeper, only for her to parry the shot onto the onrushing Millie Roper, who finished precisely.

Wednesday hit back straight from the kick-off as their player rounded four opponents and struck with a sidefoot into the corner.

The second half was much the same as Wirksworth took control and Black hit the second after a well-taken corner.

Black scored her second and Colts’ third with a great solo run.

As hard as Wednesday tried, they struggled to crack the Colts in defence, marshalled well by Jasmine Millward, and they got caught on the break as Roper grabbed the fourth and her second.

Another good build-up led to Black firing into the roof of the net for the hat-trick on her tenth birthday.

Just before the final whistle, Georgia Winson grabbed her first of the game to make it 6-1.

Girl of the game was shared between Holly Black and Jasmine Millward for great performances at either end of the field as Colts went on to clinch the runner-up spot in the league.
