Goal spree for Rangers u11s

Rowsley and District Youth League U11s Division 2

Ripley Rangers U11s 10

Carr Vale U11s 0

On a cold day at Mill Hill, Ripley Rangers were hoping to continue their winning run – and they did so in style.

From the opening minutes, the writing was on the wall for a plucky Carr Vale team.

An exchange of passes between Jack Hounslow and Jake Brandrick saw Brandrick coolly score from close range.

Then a cross from Hounslow was gleefully met by Jack Wood to make it 2-0 on six minutes.

This was then followed by a crossfield run by Jake Maskell which saw his shot nestle in the far corner to make it 3-0 after only eight minutes, his first goal in Rangers’ colours.

The game continued in the same vein with many changes in Rangers’ personnel being made and Rangers remaining in control with some tenacious work and fluent passing.

Just before half-time, Jake Brandrick went on one of his weaving runs scoring a well-taken goal, leaving four defenders in his wake.

Killian Higgins went in goal at half-time so custodian Luke Goold could have a run-out.

The second half started well for Rangers with Dylan Goodhall shooting past the advancing Keeper to make it 5-0.

Then, with Rangers on fire, Ben Hawkes slotted a nice goal home.

Not to be outdone, Jake Brandrick sealed his hat-trick after another nice move between him and Jack Hounslow.

Carr Vale were still coming forward and two good tackles, one by James Phillips, the other by Jo Bower, snuffed out the danger for Rangers.

Dylan Goodhall then completed a brace after a through-ball from Tyler Spencer Roper to put Rangers 8-0 up.

David Murray and Jack Wood prompted good saves from the Carr Vale keeper to keep the score down, but he was unable to keep out a good solo goal from Ben Hawkes that made it 9-0.

The icing on the cake was provided by Jake Brandrick, who started off the scoring in the second minute and completed it with his fourth and Ripley Rangers’ tenth to make it 10-0 at full time.

Full credit to Carr Vale, who kept going to the end but Ripley Rangers were rampant with another great squad performance.

Man of the Match was Jake Brandrick
