Two wins in the week have served to move Wirksworth Ivanhoe into promotion contention in the Midlands Regional Alliance.

They started with a 7-0 win over Chellaston Reserves in which Ben Marsh scored three goals. The other scorers were an own goal, plus strikes from Vince Kinder, Jack Higton and Craig Spencer.

Then they won 2-0 at Derby Royals Reserves with goals from Dan Smith and Liam Murphy.

Ambergate remain just off the pace after beating Bargate Rovers Reserves 2-1 with goals from Craig Tipton and Jodie Waldron.

Cromford lost their runner-up spot in the Premier Division after losing 2-0 to Derby Royals. Cromford drop two places, one of them being taken by Rowsley 86 through their 2-1 win over Mickleover RBL with goals from Tim Baker and Dan Widdowson.

Matlock Sports kept clear of the bottom two places by drawing 1-1 at Sandiacre Town.

Ashover remain in the bottom two despite a 1-1 draw at Wirksworth Town. The draw is Wirksworth’s first such result in 26 matches. Carl Moore scored the Wirksworth goal.
