Laburnum in fine away win

Bolsover Old Boys 1

Laburnum FC 2

Laburnum travelled to Bolsover on Sunday to try and continue their recent good form.

The home side started the better and the score only remained level due to the excellent form of Laburnum keeper Roberts. Laburnum did start to create chances with Haywood unfortunate not to open the scoring after good work from Haulksworth. Bolsover took the lead on the half hour after a crossfield ball was headed home.

Laburnum started the second half well with a good cross from Gregory headed just over by Haulksworth. The equaliser came after an hour when a good move found man-of-the-match Mellor through on goal, who finished in fine style. Laburnum were now in control of the game with forwards Prime and Walker a constant threat.

The winner came from an unlikely source when centre back Travis sent an unstoppable shot from 40 yards into the top corner.

Laburnum then showed great determination and a fine defensive display to see the game out and claim a well-deserved three points.
