Ian Evatt has returned to Chesterfield on a two-year deal.
The defender, 31, agreed terms with Spireites chiefs on Friday and was present as his former club took on Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.
He played 90 times for Chesterfield between 2003 and 2005 before a £150,000 move to QPR.
Evatt went on to make over 200 appearances for Blackpool and played an integral part in their Premiership campaign.
Chesterfield manager Paul Cook revealed Evatt will captain the side.
