THE top of the table clash between Matlock 2nds and Swanwick Hall on Saturday didn’t quite go according to plan for the home side at Causeway Lane.

Losing a wicket in the very first over, Matlock’s innings never really got going and they were eventually dismissed for 121 in the 46th over, despite a knock of 55 from Matt Haywood.

Swanwick Hall then cantered to victory by nine wickets to take 22 points from the encounter and maintain their place at the top of the Derbyshire County League Division 5N table.

Matlock took a solitary point and are still second. They will look to bounce back on Saturday when they play at Belper Amateurs.
