It’s half marathons galore!

Dennis Holmes and Martin Lea took part in the 32nd Snowdonia Marathon in Wales on Saturday, with Holmes finishing in 3:46.07 and Lea in 3:50.33.

On Sunday, the Worksop Half Marathon took place in the town itself and through Clumber Park, with seven MAC runners taking part.

First of them home was Colin Davenport in 1:16.35, with Simon Croft finishing in 1:26.49, Peter Wilmot 1:30.07, Rob Allen 1:46.12, Simon Flitter 1:50.23, Steve Holt 1:50.47 and Gavin Simmons 1:52.36.

Matlock’s Jim Thorneycroft, meanwhile, joined 530 other hopefuls on Bridlington Promenade for the local half marathon.

He came through the finish line in 61st position in a time of 1:34.53, before taking a post-race dip in the North Sea.

Jim has two more half marathons to go this year to reach his target of 12, next stop the Beacon Trail half marathon on November 16.

Further afield, MAC’s Dennis Belbin took part in the Mallorca half marathon, with temperatures of around 32 degrees contributing to a time of 1hr 55mins.

MAC’s Steve Holt took part in the Sheffield TenTenTen 10k race and finishined in 55.08.
