The International Combat Organisation British Open Championships have been held in Birmingham - and Matlock’s Original Jesters were represented.

Throughout the day there were medals in various disciplines competed for, covering points, full contact, light contact, ground fighting and weapons.

Jesters’ Joss Bevan, 18, was entered in both the light and full contact kickboxing divisions.

Bevan had stripped his weight down to the below 70kg limit for the event and after battling his way through to the finals of the full contact division walked away with a well-earned silver medal. After less than an hour’s recovery, he was back in the ring competing in the light contact section and into the final against Alex Lawson of London, where, up against a well-known opponent who has picked up gold medals worldwide, he again earned a silver medal.
