Latest win sends Cromford Meadows up to third place

CROMFORD Meadows 1sts were no doubt delighted to see their Derbyshire County Cricket League Division 6N game at Ashover defy the wet weather to go ahead on Saturday.

That’s because they managed to continue their very handy recent form by recording a three-wicket win over their hosts.

Ashover batted first and made 211-7 from their 46 overs. South African all-rounder Darryl Losper took 3-50 for Cromford.

In their reply, there were a number of good contributions along the way, as Simon Bunting top scored with 39.

In an exciting finish, Cromford reached their target with one ball to spare for the loss of seven wickets.

The win means Cromford Meadows are now in third place in the division.

As for the second team’s home match against Stanton Elks, it fell foul of the weather at Cromford Meadows

This weekend, the first team will be at home to Shipley Hall.
