Overnight pair Norwell and Dent batted through the morning session against some loose bowling, and had extended their second-wicket stand to 168 when Norwell fell lbw playing across the line to Chesney Hughes for a career-best 102, having hit 14 fours and three sixes.

Hide AdDent was still there are tea on 163, having looked in little trouble facing 289 balls and helping himself to 21 fours and a six. He had given just one chance when on 156.
Derbyshire did have some success with the second new ball, with Luke Fletcher having Ian Cockbain caught behind off an outswinger and Andy Carter clean bowling Gareth Roderick.
But at 368-4, Gloucestershire went in to tea just 76 behind.
