Matlock issue player appeal

MATLOCK Cricket Club is on the lookout for both senior and junior players to boost numbers.

Club chairman Derrick Taylor explained: “In the short term, as a matter of urgency, we are looking for unattached players for our second team, in Division 5N of the County League.

“We’ve had a few leaving the side so we would welcome new players, and if necessary, they could be accommodated in our thirds. We don’t want to get to the stage where we are having to call off games due to a lack of players as that could ultimately have a knock-on effect on the club’s main aim, to get the first team back into the Premier League.

“Also we could do with some juniors, particularly those at Kwik Cricket age, as we have two teams in the league and they each require eight players.”

Interested seniors can contact second team skipper Paul Chadbourne on 07775 676109. Juniors can call Ray Mullaney on 07973 745467 or Bill Simpson on 01629 760294.
