DALES runners made the short trip north on Sunday to take part in the Bolsover 10km road race.

After last year’s postponement until January, this ever popular race went ahead with the limit of 1,000 entries.

Although there was some snow beforehand, there was fortunately no repeat of last year’s weather-induced cancellation.

The winner, in a new course record, was Richard Weir from Derby A.C. in a time of 30mins 41secs.

Dales runner Anthony Barrable took his 77th individual title in the over 55yrs vets in a time of 38 mins 13secs.

Christine Howard from Matlock A.C. took the over 40s female vets title in a time of 39mins 59secs.

Runners continue to favour this race, coming from all over the country, a tribute to North Derbyshire’s Running Club’s efforts.
