Brothers take the honours at golf club’s competition

THE highlight of the week at Matlock Golf Club proved to be Saturday’s International Pairs competition.

First place went to brothers Nick and Tim Russell with 45pts while second were Trevor Taylor and Graham Dicken on 44pts. Both pairs have qualified to go forward to the regional finals.

The weekend finished with the Jubilee Cup. The mixed pairs competition was won by Andy Brown and Shelagh Lancaster with a net 71.5

Other results for the week saw the Seniors travel to Bakewell on Tuesday, losing 3.5 to 2.5, while Wednesday’s medal number six winners were Division One’s Phil Evans 69 (4) 65, Division Two’s Craig Longmore 78(10) 68, Division Three’s Master Edward Lee 84 (18) 66, Division Four’s Keith Gavin 88 (20) 68, and Dennis Macey (39 pts) in the Seniors 70+.

On Thursday evening the Vice-Captain’s team hosted Chevin, winning 4 to 2.
