THERE has been no game for Matlock Water Polo Club this week but certain members’ achievements in the last seven days have created a feelgood factor around the club which is pleasing for everyone.
Coach Richard Sellors was absent from training this Sunday with good reason.
His Ironman triathlon event was completed in 14 hours, a very credible time and achievement.
Richard was available for interview earlier this week but was too exhausted to talk.
New member Martin Peace will soon be receiving his First Class Honours Degree after hearing his results last week.
Martin was not available for interview earlier this week as he celebrated by going home straight after training for an early work start the next day.
Will Fry, a train enthusiast, has been put in charge of a fleet of locomotives with immediate effect.
Will was not available for interview earlier this week as he was boarding the 2117 fast track buffet service to Bristol. The club congratulates them all.
This Sunday’s club committee meeting anticipates the club’s formal agreements to take part in the July 19 Matlock Bath Open Water Event and to host a novice tournament of our own on August 18.
The July event will follow on from last Thursday’s, an event that was of great credit to Matlock Swimming Club.
We are hoping our August event will be just as successful and well received.
