Hucknall visit the Arc in Matlock on Saturday, knowing that anything less than a convincing win will all but end their title winning chances for the year.
In one of the tightest title races of recent years, Southwell and Hucknall remain unbeaten with only a handful of matches left.
They are due to meet each other very soon, their first league meeting of this year having ended in a draw.
Hucknall will be facing a Matlock Water Polo Club side with quite a number of senior players missing but who are nevertheless optimistic of a good performance.
“The odds can always be upset,” commented coach Richard Sellors earlier this week, before adding “Swansea’s football team stayed in the Premier League last year defying expectations.
“Andy Murray was a Wimbledon finalist after being out of form pre-tournament and Kevin Sellors finally bought a Matlock Water Polo Club cup. Anything is possible.”
The match starts at 5pm and tickets are available. Please come and watch.
Developments out of the water continue to head the club in the right direction.
With another sponsor coming on board this week and junior sessions anticipated to start in the summer holidays, a novice tournament on August 18 will also hopefully bring more people to the game.
