Eleven riders took to the start line for Matlock Cycling Club’s 10.4-mile Long Hilly time-trial on Thursday, with a familiar name recording yet another victory on the notoriously tough course.
Chris Green’s winning time of 28 minutes and 16 seconds was the fastest time recorded on the course this year, and many of the riders recorded season best times.
He was made to work hard for it though by the ever-improving Kevin White, who recorded a superb time of 28:36.
Visiting Sheffrec CC rider Daryl May had to settle for third spot, but was yet another rider to dip under the 29 minute barrier, finishing in 28:54, while Steve Heading just missed out finishing in fourth on 29:08.
Matlock youngster Cameron Orr showed real strength and determination as he finished in tenth place with a time of 34:49.
