The annual Milford Summer Duathlon, to be held on Saturday, July 30, from the Social Club in the village, is full, for the third consecutive year.
Local athletes are expected to be out in force for the duathlon, consisting of an 11.3 mile bike section sandwiched between two runs of 2.5 miles, which is becoming a very popular sport, with major events attracting up to 1,000 competitors.
However, the Milford events are aimed at beginners who may be competing in such an event for the first time and who may have come from a background of running or cycling.
On Saturday, August 20, and from the same venue and on the same course, the organisers are promoting a duathlon relay for teams of one runner and one cyclist. Entries are still available by phoning 01773 880338.
Meanwhile, the first of two annual Milford Chevin Fell Races will be held on Thursday, August 4, at 7.30pm, from the Social Club in Chevin Road, Milford
Two races are run concurrently: a 2.2 mile race for youngsters over eight years old, also for beginners and the not so fit, and the main event over 4.5 miles that takes the runners up over the Chevin Hill and out to Farnah Green before returning to Milford.
While entries are taken on the night from 6.30pm, with under 16s being free, they can also be sent to email@example.com stating your name, date of birth, phone numbers and e-address.
The second of the Milford Fell Races will be held on Wednesday, September 14, at the earlier time of 6.30pm and over the shorter distances of 1.5 miles and 3 miles.
