The Seventh Thorn Tree Inn Stan Brewster Memorial Trophy has taken place with golfers from across the area taking part.
34 golfers from the Thorn Tree Inn, based on Jackson Road in Matlock, recently competed in the annual event at a sunny Chatsworth Golf Club, playing off ¾ handicap.
The Stan Brewster Memorial Trophy has been running since 2005 when Stan, who worked at the County Offices on Smedley Road and used the Thorn Tree, lost his life during the London terrorist bombings on July 7.
Thus year’s results were as follows: Drawn winners of the Stan Brewster Memorial Trophy with a combined score of 69 points were Neil Fennah and Andy Brown.
Neil also won the Open Shield for handicap golfers on 38 points and the Longest Drive competition.
The trophy for non-handicap players went to Dan Seago on 40 points. Barry Hazelwood won the nearest the pin and Fran Turner won the best Ladies Card.
Organisers are already for next year’s event and would like to thank everyone who played, Pat and Emma at the Thorn Tree for “a great night and fab pies” and also to Chatsworth Golf Club.
