Have a ball at croquet club

Darley Dale Croquet Club is holding a social day this Sunday between 2pm and 5pm in Whitworth Park.

Members will be playing and invite anyone who would like a taster session to come along. Light snacks will be available.

The club plays golf croquet as a fun sport with plenty of laughter.

This form of croquet should not to be confused with the more elite Association version of the game.

Members do not take everything seriously and don’t play in special clothes. This is a game which everyone can play, regardless of their physical skills, gender, age or stamina.

Croquet has become a regular feature of the summer months in Whitworth Park. The club meets on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 1pm until 5pm from April through to at least the end of September.

For those with a more competitive streak, the club is a member of the Federation of East Midlands Croquet Clubs and takes part in their two-division inter-club leagues.

Membership costs £32 per year, and members can play as many games as they want. All equipment is provided.

Two club members are trained coaches and are available to provide coaching for those who want it.
