ANGLERS have been out in force at Press Manor Fishery with a number of those present recording impressive catches.
Michael Elliot, from Hasland, ended up with a 25lb bag of roach and bream from Press Manor Coarse Lake.
He caught on a mixture of bronze maggot and Caster fished on a pole. He caught consistently all day but surprisingly struggled when the wind dropped and the lake went flat calm.
Other notable catches were from Richmond AC who had a fishing day and enjoyed it so much that they organised another one a few days later.
In their five-hour match, the results were: 1st: Pete Gosney 21lb; 2nd: Keith Palmer 19lb; 3rd: Mick Bolsover 16lb.
Peter Gosney won the match fishing on a pole at the surprisingly shallow depth of one foot between hook and float on maggot.
Local angler Malcolm Sears from Holymoorside landed a 3lb common carp, caught using maggot on a feeder. He had a mixed bag of mainly bream.
Keith Mitchell, playing in a skimmer bream, caught on a ledgered maggot, while, at Press Manor Trout Lake, Brian Symmonds from Mansfield landed a one-and-a-half pound rainbow trout, caught using a buzzer under an indicator.
Brian caught ten trout, mostly caught on home tied black buzzer, with the remainder on diawl bach.
The lake sport has been consistent and, in the windy conditions, the intermediate line was with a Damsel nymph or Black Green Vivas.
