Kids’ coaching camp returns

Matlock Rugby Club is again hosting its summer coaching camp for local youngsters aged 6-16.

The club has invited Rucks N Mauls along for a third year to run their unique brand of Kiwi-style coaching.

The mantra of Rucks N Mauls is inclusivity for all ages and all abilities. Rucks N Mauls’ director of coaching Alastair Kalin explained: “It’s all about giving kids the chance to experience the great game of rugby and if they go on to play at a higher level having experienced Rucks N Mauls, then so much the better.”

The camp runs over five days (9.30am -3.15pm) from August 1-5 at Cromford Meadows, the home of Matlock RUFC. The focus is on developing ball skills through modified games with the emphasis on team play and developing spatial awareness.

The week is a memorable, high energy, fun-packed experience that’s not to be missed.
