A GROUP of 31 ladies from Matlock Golf Club spent a two-day away break at Owston Hall near Doncaster, in a trip organised by Lady Captain Veda Kay.
They were very fortunate with the weather with blue skies, sunshine and temperatures of 20 degrees.
They held two competitions; the individual Stableford was won by Barbara Edwards and the 4AM by Carol Gent, Jenny Simpson, Jenny Lee and Pearl Dunn.
This week saw the start of competitions with the Spondon Trophy fixture between Matlock B and Chapel C, with Matlock securing home advantage, winning 4.5 to 2.5.
The Winter Cup was held on Saturday, with a big field. The winning pair was Danny Barlow and Andrew Binns with a net 58, just pipping the Mooney brothers, Les and Paul, in second place with a net 59.
On Sunday, captain Bob Whyld and vice-captain Ian Marr led the England and Rest of the World teams respectively. For the first time in the last four, the Rest of the World won 5-2.
