The rod average looks to be slowly going up at Carsington Fishery.
The weather at the beginning of the week continued to make the fishing hard work and a lot of anglers commented it was definitely too hot to be fishing.
However, the weekend saw the fishing improve and the Carsington Fly Fishers had a successful Sunday.
Two of their anglers caught the best rainbow and the best brown of the week. Despite the low rod average and the disruption in water levels the stocking regime has been maintained as normal.
The rod average for last week was 1.9 with 99 fish caught by 53 anglers.
The best rainbow of the week was 5lb caught by Tony Wilton using a black lure near Fishtail Creek. The largest brown caught was 1lb 15oz and was caught by Keith Pigott. Both Tony Wilton and Keith Pigott were fishing the Carsington Fly Fishers match on Sunday.
The fish have remained in the deeper waters this week with areas including the Dam Wall, Fishtail Creek, Buoys 3 and 7 doing well.
Please note that Carsington is a boat fishing water only.
It is advisable that boat bookings are made in advance to avoid disappointment. Discounts are available for bookings of five or more boats.
