MEMBERs of Matlock Rugby Club have taken part in a sponsored bag pack at Sainsbury’s in Matlock.

The seven players from the club’s senior section raised over £580 for the British Heart Foundation through their efforts.

The British Heart Foundation has contacted the club, thanking the players for all the hard work and revealing the final amount raised for the charity through their efforts.

Meanwhile, there have been a couple of changes to the first XV’s line-up of pre-season matches.

As usual, the first encounter will be the Matlock Tens Tournament, this year at Cromford Meadows on July 28 with Matlock going into it as the defending champions.

Bakewell Mannerians will then be the visitors for a match on August 11, followed by a trip to play Buxton on August 18.

Then, there will be an away game on August 21 against a Sheffield Tigers development squad.Pre-sPre-season training continues to go well with coach Alan Johnson happy with the numbers turning up.
