ENTRIES are now being accepted for the 2012 Chatsworth 10K and Family Fun Run in aid of Bakewell-based charity Helen’s Trust.
The race, now in its fifth year, is popular with runners with 1,200 taking part in 2010 and it encompasses a picturesque route through the grounds of Chatsworth House.
After a hill start, popular with fell runners, the route levels off to follow woodland tracks before opening out onto the moor top for scenic views and descending back into parkland.
Laura Mayes, race director, said: “The Helen’s Trust 10k is a prestigious race that has become popular in the running calendar thanks to the historic Chatsworth venue. Places are limited and we would advise those wishing to take part to enter early to avoid disappointment.”
For those wanting to set a more leisurely pace, the 3k Family Fun Run follows and also boasts views of the stately Chatsworth House. Participants are encouraged to run in fancy dress.
