THERE was precious little Yorkshire and Derbyshire Cricket League action on Saturday but Youlgrave Lodge did manage to dodge the rain to fit a game in.

They welcomed Sheffield Medics in a Division Four game but were dismissed for 80.

Given the saturated nature of some pitches across the area this summer, this may now be considered a par score but Sheffield Medics found their way past it with five wickets to spare.

In Division One, defending champions Holmesfield struggled to 88, then home side Sheffield University Staff attained the win by six wickets.

In Division Two, not a single game was played. This weekend, Grindleford play bottom team Baslow.

In Division Five, again, there were no started or finished games. This weekend leaders Baslow II entertain Apperknowle III.

Sixth-placed Woodhouse will hope to bring joy to the populace of Hathersage II, who will undoubtedly be keen to see action in what will be only their third actual fixture of the season.

At the foot of the table, next-to-bottom Ashford in the Water II host Apperknowle II.
