A Belper News reader has contacted us saying he spotted a bright light over the town last week.
Louis Vella said: "Last night at approximately 9:35 i saw a really bright light falling from the sky, trailing it was smoke.
"From where I saw it, it looked as if it was falling over by the chevin.
I usually see planes in this direction at night, however the size of the bright light was nearly as big as the sun!
"I was wondering if anybody else saw this or if anybody knows what it was!"
