A PARKS Estate resident has claimed he saw an unidentified cluster of lights in the sky over Belper.
He saw the unexplained sight close to the Chevin at 7.45am on Monday, January 4.

The man, who did not wish to be named, said he was looking out of his window on the new estate, near the Herbert Strutt School, when he saw the lights, which did not move before they simply faded away.

He said: "There was no body or shape and they just went out. There was a clear blue sky. I don't believe in UFOs and it could have been a reflection of something in the sky from below.

"I was looking over the Chevin, towards Ashbourne and Blackbrook and I though 'what's that?', so I looked through binoculars."

The sighting follows our story last week when a woman reported seeing lights over the Chevin on December 28.
