The multi-talented Mark Lilley is to have some of his artwork exhibited as this year’s Wirksworth Arts Festival.
The Belper-based musician and artist is a well-known figure in the area - and beyond - for both his music and art, and this year the Wirksworth Arts Festival committee has announced that Mark will be a featured visual artist in this year’s renowned event, selecting his portrait collection for exhibition on September 6 and 7.
Graduating from Barnsley College of Art & Design, Mark returned home to Derbyshire and became a professional singer-songwriter, musician, arranger, producer and visual artist with three critically acclaimed albums under his belt to date.
He has also had painting collections exhibited in Derby Museum & Art Gallery. Mark will be exhibiting a selection of work from the Mark Lilley portrait and landscape collection, ‘painted with love and gouache from imagination and life.’
This year’s Wirksworth Arts Festival, which will draw people to the town from far and wide, will take place from September 5-26. 2014’s festival sees the event marking its 20th year.
