Justine Nettleton’s exhibition, A Walk in the Park, will be open from October 1-31 in the Sir Richard Morris Lounge at the Derby Cathedral Centre.
The exhibition’s title encapsulates the theme of Justine Nettleton’s recent work. With a degree in fine art from the University of Northumbria, she moved to Long Eaton in 2003 and became fascinated by the changing light at different times of the day and seasons of the year after cycling round West Park.
Her painting began by exploring the range of colours, shadows and reflections in the early evening. Drawing her inspiration from light, colour and trees, her favourite time and place is anywhere lit at night, particularly parks and forests. She has since developed a contrasting series on The Sun in Your Eyes based on Wollaton Park in Nottingham.
The exhibition is open Monday to Friday from 9am-3.30pm.
