See new take on classic ballet tale

BALLET Theatre UK will be giving their retelling of Hans Christian Andersen’s classic tale The Snow Queen at Derby’s Assembly Rooms on Friday, October 14, at 7.30pm.

The spectacular production follows the story of Gerda and her quest to find her friend Kay, who the Snow Queen has placed under an evil spell.

Gerda’s fantastic adventure takes her on a journey across the frozen North, where she encounters a band of gypsies, an enchanted reindeer and a mysterious and reclusive Lapland woman.

Ballet Theatre UK’s renowned company of dancers create a magnificent spectacle, all set to the backing of Prokofiev’s glorious and magical score. (Please note there is no live orchestra with this production).
