Three of the best for ballet fans

Buxton Opera House is welcoming back the esteemed Birmingham Royal Ballet on May, Tuesday 20 and Wednesday, May 21, with their acclaimed mix bill, an eclectic programme of three dance pieces that shows the skill and diversity of the world class company.

New Kit Holder is an exciting piece by Birmingham Royal Ballet’s own dancer and choreographer Kit Holder, set to music from cult tango/classical fusion composer Astor Piazzolla.

Bitesized Ballet includes excerpts from Beauty and the Beast and other best loved ballets. The company’s final piece Façade (choreography by Frederick Ashton and music by William Walton) is a hilarious comic ballet based on Edith Sitwell’s deliciously nonsensical poetry.

Tickets are priced at £17 to £25 and discounts are available. Call 0845 127 2190.
