MANOR Farm at Dethick is the venue for a four-day festival this weekend celebrating the life and work of local author Alison Uttley.
Manor Farm was the inspiration and setting for her story A Traveller In Time.
The main focus of the festival, running from August 26-29, will be an exhibition of photos, writings, letters and memorabilia, telling the story of her life and work, to be held in the Calf House at the farm.
Admission is free but visitors will be able to leave voluntary donations to the Alison Uttley Trust. The farm’s Tudor kitchen will also be open, providing refreshments to visitors, with proceeds to the Dethick Church Roof Appeal. The festival will be open from 11am-4.30pm daily.
In addition to the exhibition, there will be reading from Alison Uttley books and on the Sunday, folk musician Pete Castle will be performing at lunch.
