Young Peak District artist Fergus Carmichael is to have an oil painting exhibited at the Royal Society of British Artists’ annual exhibition in London.

His painting Conflict will be displayed at The Mall Gallery in March, alongside 19 fellow NADFAS RBA Scholar winners.

Fergus, whose family lives in Foolow, is a first year undergraduate at Newcastle University studying Fine Art.

He painted Conflict while he was an A-level student at Silverdale School in Sheffield.

Conflict will be shown at the South Yorkshire Artists A-level exhibition, featuring the work of 50 young artists, in the Millennium Galleries, Sheffield, from January 18 to 21.
