PROMISES AUCTION: An auction of promises has been organised by Wirksworthian Jane Aitman, to raise cash for ‘Study Guatemala’ a charity that provides education for disadvantaged children living in Guatemala City. Lots include things that money can’t buy (easily) such as tickets to Bellowhead, work from some of the prestigious artists who exhibit in the Wirksworth festival,and holidays in County Kerry and Scotland. The auction of promises is in the Red Lion, Wirksworth, from 7.45pm; the bar is open and £5 admission includes food.

PULLMAN CURRY NIGHT: The first ever Pullman Curry Night at Wirksworth Station between 15.30 and 8:30. There will be a selection of homemade curries with rice, naan bread and onion bhaji. HEARTLESS TARTS: The Heartless Tarts’ will star in a concert to launch their new CD and raise funds for Ashgate Hospice and Action for Children. Featuring Alison Green, Helen Boyce, Annie McClimont and Gwenna Carless all of whom are members of the ‘Fishpond Choir’. Discover the amazing life cycles of plants and have a go at making paper plate sunflowers. Nature Tots takes place monthly and runs from 10am-11.30am.
