They’re back! After a sellout concert at the venue last year, Steve Ignorant’s Slice Of Life, Andy T and Chris Butler return on Friday, September 12, to The Queen’s Head in Belper.
The Chesterfield Road-based venue is proud to repeat the occasion with a return of the line-up for an ‘up close and personal’ concert featuring three diverse acts.
Steve Ignorant is frontman with anarcho punk band and formed Slice Of Life as a new acoustic project last year, which gave it worldwide premiere concert at The Queen’s Head a year ago.
Slice Of Life is an opportunity for Steve to explore the more contemplative side of his songwriting, a far cry from the aggression of Crass.
Andy T was not just a tour support and labelmate of Crass but typifies the whole era and genre of what was later called anarcho punk. Diverse, political, challenging and without rules, Andy is a performance poet who tells it like it is.
Local favourite Chris Butler is a folk singer and songwriter.
He is a performer for those who like to mix music, politics and pleasure. Chris’s new CD titled If not now, when? was released this summer and The Queen’s Head is the ideal venue to catch Chris live in an intimate setting armed with just his acoustic guitar.
There will also be a charity raffle in aid of Sea Palling independent lifeboat crew, of which Steve Ignorant is a crew member.
Tickets are £10 and doors open at 8pm.
You can get tickets from the venue itself at £10 each and through the post from: Belper Gigs, 167 Far Laund, Belper, Derbyshire, DE56 1FP.
Please add 70p per order to cover postage costs and make any cheques payable to M. Jones.
