Belper band Riptide play host to a Christmas charity gig each year and this year they haved teamed up with local promoters Deafbox Promotions to put on another worthy gig in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust.
On Friday, January 20, the Queen’s Head in Belper will be home to a night of music talent.
Kicking the event off are local youngsters Chase The Rain, the female-fronted four-piece will be playing a great alt-rock set comprising of some original songs as well as some singalong covers. Next up is acoustic act Jasper. After recently moving to the area, he is already making a big impact. The solo artist is sure to impress anyone watching as previous gigs have proved a real treat.
Keeping the night flowing Deafbox have managed to book a fantastic act in the form of The Re-entrants. The ukulele duo are coming off a UK tour to play for this very worthy charity. Whether it be Bowie or Britney, Motorhead or Madonna, the Re-entrants somehow manage to get in all the hooks, riffs, solos and vocal harmonies with nothing but two voices and two ukuleles.
Topping off the night are joint hosts Riptide. The Belper boys are back at the Queen’s Head to give fans yet another jaw-dropping performance.
Fresh from the studios and after a short Christmas break, they are armed with a whole host of new songs along with some of the Riptide classics their fans know and love. The night also marks their new EP release and it will be on sale on the night for £2. All donations from the CD on the night will also go to the Teenage Cancer Trust.
Doors are at 6.30pm and entry is £3 (all proceeds going to the charity).
