DERBY Concert Orchestra members return to St Mary’s Church in Wirksworth for their latest performance at the town’s St Mary’s Church, on Saturday, May 21.
The concert begins at 7.30pm and starts with performances of two excerpts from Wagner’s opera The Flying Dutchman, the entertaining and exciting overture and then the dramatic aria Die Frist Ist Um, with soloist Jeremy Hagan.
In addition, there will be performances of Britten’s Four Sea Interludes from his opera Peter Grimes and Berlioz’s multi-faceted Harold In Italy, with Graham Oppenheimer taking the solo viola role.
The concert will be conducted by Jonathan Trout and tickets are £10 (£8 concessions). Under 16s get in free when accompanied by an adult.
