THERE will be an impressively varied selection of musical acts performing at The Flowerpot in Derby this week.
Kicking off the week’s entertainment at the King Street venue, on Friday, September 23, will be Desperado, with their popular tribute show The Heart Of The Eagles.
One of the biggest worldwide acts of the 1970s, the music of The Eagles continues to resonate down the decades, thanks to the occasional high-profile reunion, not to mention the strength and memorability of the original songs.
Desperado are committed to bringing the Eagles’ back catalogue to as wide an audience as possible thanks to this acclaimed tribute show which has seen the six-piece outfit gain a fine reputation for their performances on the live circuit.
Blues fans should enjoy Saturday night’s gig when Virgil And The Accelerators drop by, with support provided by The Mentulls.
Fronted by blues rock guitarist extraordinaire Virgil MacMahon, Virgil And The Accelerators are a trio of talented musicians who have made quite a name for themselves in the last couple of years for a string of blistering live performances. So make sure you get down to the Flowerpot this weekend to see what all the fuss is about.
On Tuesday, September 26, there’s more for blues fans to enjoy thanks to a set from the Henrik Frieschlader Band.
The band is made up of four self-taught, highly talented musicians with a burning passion for blues music who will be strutting their stuff to a hopefully appreciative Flowerpot audience for the first time this week.
Finally, the latest in the series of Acoustic Wednesdays gigs takes place in the bar from 9pm on September 28. The free gig features music from Baron Lewis.
Doors open at 8pm and admission is £12 for Desperado, £9 (£8 concessions) for Virgil And The Accelerators and £10 for Henrik Frieschlader Band.
