Fun-loving band is still at full tilt

Well-known local skiffle band Please Y’Self release their new album Full Tilt this Saturday at a special launch party at the Red Lion in Wirksworth.

The band, comprising brothers Rob and John Gill and sister Chris Shaw, are still gigging regularly after an incredible 39 years since they emerged from a rag week busking band at Matlock Teachers’ College.

As well as playing festivals such as Glastonbury and appearing at the country’s most prestigious rock venues, the band has appeared with such seminal artistes as The Clash and jammed onstage with Jools Holland while on tour.

Famed for their onstage antics and spontaneity, the many local fans of the band are in for a feast of fun this Saturday. The band can also be seen at Matlock’s Twenty Ten bar on Friday, May 27.

Ticket enquiries for the album launch night are via the band’s website www.pleaseyself.co.uk or by calling 07891 572000.
