WINSTER-based chamber choir the Wyns Tor Singers will be joining forces with the Chapel Choir from S Anselm’s Preparatory School in Bakewell on Saturday, March 26, for a concert.

Also performing will be several professional instrumentalists for a concert entitled The Lord is my Shepherd. The concert, which begins at 7pm, will include some madrigals from the Wyns Tor Singers, three settings of Psalm 23 (by Schubert, Tomkins and Goodall) and a full performance, with orchestra, of Henry Purcell’s Come Ye Sons of Art, with all soloists taken from the Wyns Tor Singers themselves.

The piece will also include two S Anselm’s pupils Annabel Gerard-Pearse and Georgina Harrison playing recorder. In the second half, among other pieces, will be a full performance of Bob Chilcott’s Little Jazz Mass, with both choirs, Andrew Marples on jazz piano and Greg Rawson on drumkit.

Tickets can be obtained in advance by contacting Jon Weller, director of music at S Anselm’s and musical director of the Wyns Tor Singers, on 01629 816836 or by emailing jon.weller@anselms.co.uk. Audience may also pay on the door.

Tickets are priced at £8 (£5 concessions) and include interval refreshments. The concert takes place at S Anselm’s Preparatory School, Stanedge Road, Bakewell.
