Matlock Bath goes rock and roll

A host of musicians will be showcasing their talent this weekend as a new music festival its Matlock Bath.

The Matlock Bath Music Festival will be taking place between across five venues on Saturday.

From noon onwards the Princess Victoria, Riva, County and Station, Fishpond and Banknote will host performances from The Black Hands, Catching Kate, Sidewinderz, Welcome to the City and Joe Cooper.

The festival has been organised by brothers Andy and Mike Richardson.

Andy commented: “The basic idea is a multi venue festival that takes over the whole of Matlock Bath.

“It is still early days as this is just the second event – the first event took place in June this year in the car park behind the Midland.

“It was a great success giving us the confidence to roll this out across the whole town.

“We want this to gain momentum so that just for one day a year Matlock bath is alive with music entertainment.

“We are passionate about local music and we hope this shines through in what we do.”
