THE Pipes In The Peaks venue at Thorpe, near Ashbourne, plays host to organist and pianist Jean Martyn on Sunday, June 17, at 2.30pm.
Jean Martyn made the finals of Britain’s Got Talent in 2011, and since then has
been extremely busy performing all over the UK.
Musically trained at Trinity College, Trent Park and The Guildhall School of Music, London, Jean is the only female organist to have recorded on the famous Blackpool Tower Wurlitzer Organ during the last 50 years.
She has given three concerts at the Cheshire residence of the Duke of Westminster and has appeared for the Not Forgotten Association’ at St James’s Palace in London for Chelsea Pensioners and servicemen that have served in World War II and other conflicts.
Jean performs many styles of music, from jazz to classical, Big-Band to Broadway and from 40s Swing to military marches. She is an internationally-acclaimed artist and a real entertainer.
