Singer Eddi Reader is to perform at The Grand Pavilion in Matlock Bath on Friday, October 24.
Eddi Reader was brought into the limelight with Fairground Attraction and their single Perfect, and parent album First of a Million Kisses, which both topped the British charts.
However, it has been her subsequent solo albums which signalled her increasing ability to assimilate different musical styles and make them very much her own. Her rare blend of meltingly true vocals and towering romanticism combine with an astute and pragmatic nature to make her a unique and powerful figure in contemporary British music. She has effortlessly developed into one of popular music’s most thrilling and affecting performers.
Special guest on the night is Findlay Napier, the Scottish singer-songwriter, appearing on the Vagabond tour, named after Eddi’s most recent album.
Previously nominated for Composer of the Year at Scot’s Trad Music Awards, in 2013 Findlay Napier won the UK’s Burnsong Songwriting Competition.
Tickets are £20 in advance and £24 on the door. Doors open at 7pm and the show starts at 7.30pm. For more details, see www.thegrandpavilion.co.uk
